Train to Ground and Internet Access

The Onboard Communications (WDL) system is the communications system installed on the train with data and multimedia capabilities, enabling Wi-Fi and cellular (3G or 4G) communications between the train and the ground (OCC). This system can also provide internet access for passengers. For rail operators, this service is a competitive advantage and offers an additional incentive to attract new passengers by enhancing their onboard comfort. The Passenger Internet Access (PIA) system allows for a wireless connection between the train and the passenger Wi-Fi network, and even provides special (super-user) access for the crew.
