Network

With the technological advancement of onboard subsystems, a growing need has arisen for more reliable and powerful networks. These networks constitute the essential infrastructure upon which the train's most advanced systems are integrated, enabling the transfer of multimedia information and data critical to its operation.

The networks must offer high bandwidth and robust capacity to manage the information generated by SepsaMedha's various onboard systems: communication, control, passenger information, security, and other third-party systems.

Furthermore, the unique characteristics of the railway environment—such as the dynamic composition of moving vehicles—require that the network be able to manage data traffic efficiently and avoid IP address conflicts, even when the physical configuration of the train is modified or rearranged.

Features

  • Redundancy management in ECN and ETB using VRRP.
  • Fast Ethernet ports combined with/without PoE, for end-devices, Gigabit ports for ring connection and for Mobile Gateway / Router interconnection of embedded networks / specific end-device.
  • ECS1: Basic node of ECN.
  • ETBN: “Mixed” node ECN and ETB.
  • Router compliant with ETB operating procedures.
  • Obtaining/managing/providing train topology information.
  • It integrates standard DNS and DHCP servers (IP assignment per connection port).
  • ECS2: ECN and ETB “mixed” node
  • Applying TCN standard recommendation, it supports ETB repeater function, with automatic bypass in case of failure.
